About the Album
Heavy Heart is an intensely personal Fubar project built around the weight of memory, depression, addiction, regret, mortality, family, and artistic obsession. The cover captures the album almost perfectly: a lone figure struggles to drag an enormous stone heart across hostile terrain, turning emotional burden into something physically overwhelming.
That imagery continues through titles like “Expose the Ligaments,” “Blood on Paper,” “The Beaten Path,” “Sitting in Darkness,” “Squandered Soul,” and “Barren Wasteland.” The album repeatedly treats writing as a form of emotional dissection, peeling away the surface and putting whatever is underneath onto the page. Former addiction, the death of his father, religious skepticism, lost opportunities, depression, family, and the inevitability of death all become material for the music.
But Heavy Heart is not entirely hopeless. Beneath its darker imagery is a persistent determination to survive, evolve as an artist, be present for family, and create meaning even when no larger meaning can be guaranteed. The weight never completely disappears: instead, he learns to pull it forward and transform it into art.
At its core, Heavy Heart is about carrying everything that shaped you, even the things you wish you could leave behind, and turning that weight into something worth writing down.
