Between the Frames
About the Album
An album almost a full decade in the making. Not because the work itself took that long, but because of the experiences, perspective shifts, and insights that molded the man who would author its writings. This work represents a decade of growth. A growth that only amounts to sorting through the raw, grainy footage before the real story begins. Simply the opening credits to another feature. Countless pits and setbacks. Pain, loss, grief, anxiety, suffering, darkness, hopelessness. And yet, the few but powerful triumphs born from those bleak experiences seem enough to produce equilibrium. The technique remains sharp, but the message is now at the forefront.
It is all merely a film we get the pleasure to witness. The true self lies in the darkness between the moving images. Even with this knowledge, you are subject to the film’s drama. You feel the emotions of its main character as if they were your own. You talk to yourself endlessly, suffering the torture of the script. Who wrote the screen play? And what intentions can the director possibly have for how this story reaches its conclusion?
