About the Album
World’s Smallest Violin pairs Fubar with longtime collaborator DJ Rhum’1 for a compact project built around one consistent musical idea: every beat incorporates violin samples. The title works on two levels, referring directly to the album’s sound while borrowing the familiar sarcastic expression used to offer someone very little sympathy.
That combination of sorrow and mockery fits the project’s dark presentation. Titles such as “Chapter of Torment,” “Tears of Blood,” “Bringer of Ash,” “No Coming Back,” “Path of the Guillotine” and “Closed Casket” push the album toward horror, mortality and bleak imagery. At the same time, “Old Fashioned” and “Stuck in the Past” introduce a nostalgic element, giving the record a sense of looking backward while moving deeper into darker territory.
Featuring Sadida, Verbfromarizona and Subcon, with cuts throughout by Chrisu Beats, World’s Smallest Violin is a focused Fubar/DJ Rhum’1 collaboration where the violin becomes more than a sample source: it gives the entire record its atmosphere. Melancholy instrumentation meets unsympathetic darkness, turning the world’s smallest violin into the soundtrack for something considerably more sinister.
